This week, we will engage our hearts and minds to memorize and meditate on this truth: “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”
Consider the following descriptions on meekness:
“Meekness is not weakness, it is not being like grass that is trampled under foot, but it is strength under control; it is our passions being harnessed for good; it is power governed by gentleness. Meekness rises out of being poor in spirit & mourning. Meekness is not natural – a fruit of the Spirit.” Thabiti Anyabwile
“Meekness of spirit not only fits us for communion with God, but for civil converse with men; and thus among all the graces it hold first place. Meekness has a divine beauty and sweetness in it.” Thomas Watson
We need to ask God to bear this fruit in our lives through the work of the Holy Spirit. It is a very important character quality in maintaining healthy relationships.
