Lay Elders & Deacons

Lay Elders

Our church is led by a group of elders. These men have been called to care for and shepherd the church through teaching and preaching God’s Word, prayer and oversight. Staff elders serve in a full-time capacity and have assigned roles and responsibilities. Lay elders maintain employment outside the church.

Jared Bare

Jared Bare

Jared graduated from Appalachian Bible College with a degree in Bible and Theology. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He works as an Operations Technician for Real Estate Resources, Inc.

Jared is married to Lauren, and they are blessed with two daughters, Geneva and Lydia.

Jared serves as an elder and a member of the worship team. He enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, and reading works by J.C. Ryle, J.R.R. Tolkien, or any well-written history book.

Russ Bonasso

Russ Bonasso

Russ graduated from West Virginia University with both an M.S. and a B.S. in Business, along with a Minor in Communications. He is a licensed producer with Cornerstone First Mortgage.

Russ is married to Bonita, and they are blessed with four sons: Michael, Daniel, Isaac, and Philip.

Russ serves as an elder, small group leader, and Student Ministry leader. Books that have influenced Russ’ life and faith include: Humility by C.J. Mahaney, Knowledge of the Holy by A.W. Tozer, Pursuit of Holiness by Jerry Bridges, The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis, Biblical Eldership by Alexander Strauch, and Desiring God by John Piper.

Andrew Dockery

Andrew Dockery

Andrew graduated from Marshall University with his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Masters of Business Administration. He works at TC Energy as a Business Analyst. Andrew is married to Maggie, and they are blessed with three children: Jackson, William, and Emily.

Andrew serves as an elder, small group co-leader, and has coached the RSBC mens’ softball team to six championships.

Kyle Flanagan

Kyle Flanagan

Kyle graduated from Colorado School of Mines with his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering and also received his Master’s in Theological Studies from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He works at Greylock Energy as a Midstream Compliance Engineer.

Kyle is married to Erin, and they are blessed with four children: Izzy, Iva, Ingrid, and Isaac.

Kyle serves as an elder. Authors that have influenced his life and faith include John Piper and R.C. Sproul.

Randy Jones

Randy Jones

Randy graduated from Virginia Tech with his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science and from Marshall University with his Masters of Business Administration. He works as a senior sales engineer at Segra.

Randy serves as an elder and oversees the Academy of Biblical and Theological Studies & The Appalachia Conference on Theology and the Church. He also serves on the worship team.

Books that have influenced his life and faith include: “The Gospel According to the Apostles” by John MacArthur, “The Bondage of the Will” by Martin Luther, and “Chosen by God” by R.C. Sproul.

Greg McVey

Greg McVey

Greg graduated from Marshall University with his Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. Thereafter, he received his law degree from West Virginia University College of Law and is now an attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Greg is blessed with two children: Alex (Haley) and Annie McVey.

Greg serves as an elder and the church pianist. Authors that have influenced his life and faith include J.A. Packer and Carl Trueman.

Rick Silber

Rick Silber

Rick grew up in the Cumberland, MD, and Short Gap, WV, areas. He attended Potomac State College in Keyser, WV, and graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. Thereafter, he worked for thirty-five years in underground natural gas storage for Columbia Gas Transmission, NiSource, and TC Energy in Charleston, WV.

Rick is married to Kathy. They have been blessed with three adult children: Aaron Silber (Savannah), Jessica Silber, and Troy Silber, as well as one granddaughter, Elise Silber.

Books that have influenced Rick’s life and faith include The Pleasures of God by John Piper, The Prodigal Son by John MacArthur, and The Gospel for Real Life by Jerry Bridges.

Andrew Stonestreet

Andrew Stonestreet

Andrew graduated from Marshall University with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. Thereafter, he received his law degree from West Virginia University College of Law. He works as an attorney at Bowles Rice.

Andrew is married to Lee, and they are blessed with two sons, Beckett & Ben.

Andrew serves as an elder and small group co-leader. The author, David Platt, has influenced Andrew’s life and faith.

Walker Thompson

Walker Thompson

Walker graduated from Worcester Polytechnical Institute with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He received his Master’s of Science degree in Industrial Management at New Jersey Institute of Technology. Additionally, he has served our country though a tour of duty in the Army.

Walker has been married to his bride, Gail, for over fifty years.

Walker serves as an elder at RSBC. The author, R.C. Sproul, has influenced his life and faith.

Deacons

Our deacons are responsible for ensuring that our membership is serving one another and providing care for those in need. Each deacon leads a Care Group that includes a small group of Randolph Street families that are committed to serving one another.

Michael Ashworth

Michael Ashworth

Michael graduated from West Virginia University with his Bachelor of Science in Wood Science & Technology. He works at Henkel Corporation as a Sales Engineer.

 
Michael is married to Rachel, and they are blessed with their son, Elias. 
 
Michael serves as a deacon and greeter.  Authors that have influenced his life and faith include: R.C. Sproul, Jerry Bridges, Sinclair Ferguson, and John Piper.
Jim Bone

Jim Bone

Jim graduated from West Virginia University Institute of Technology, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He is employed by the State of West Virginia, Division of Rehabilitation, and is contracted by the Federal Government to work for the Social Security Administration’s “Disability Determination” program.

Jim is married to Valerie, and they are blessed with two daughters: Lauren Wood and Megan Bone.

Jim serves as a deacon.

Denny Dispennette

Denny Dispennette

Denny was born and raised in northeast Arkansas before moving to West Virginia. He works as a bridge engineer and is married to Rachel. Together, they have three children.

Denny serves as a deacon, small group leader, and Middle School Training Hour teacher. Books that have influenced Denny’s life and faith include “Radical” by David Platt and “Desiring God” by John Piper.

Scott Fox

Scott Fox

Scott served our country in the U.S. Coast Guard for eight years. He is the owner and operator of Clean Slate Restoration.

Scott is married to Amanda, and they are blessed with four children: Braxton, Gage, Maddox, and Piper.

Authors such as RC Sproul and John Piper have influenced Scott’s life and faith.

Garrison Greathouse

Garrison Greathouse

Garrison graduated from Glenville State College with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems in 1993. He is employed by Frontier Communications.

He is married to Lori, and they have a daughter and son-in-law who reside in Ohio.

Garrison serves as a deacon. The author R.C. Sproul has significantly influenced his life and faith.

Keith Pickard

Keith Pickard

Keith graduated from Appalachian Bible College with a B.A. in Bible and Theology. He also earned an M.A. in Theological Studies from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a Private Banking Advisor with Truist Wealth.

Keith is married to Elizabeth, and they are blessed with two children: Norah and Miles.

Keith serves as a deacon and a member of the worship team. Authors who have influenced Keith’s life and faith include Cornelius Van Til, Alvin Plantinga, and C.S. Lewis.

Mitch Tuggle

Mitch Tuggle

Mitch graduated from Concord University with his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and English Writing. Thereafter, he received his law degree from West Virginia University College of Law. He works as an attorney at Thomas Combs & Spann.

Mitch is married to Ashley, and they are blessed with three children, Graydon, Hattie, and Zebulun.

Mitch serves as a deacon, small group co-leader, and Children’s Training Hour teacher. Authors that have influenced his faith include: David Platt, Jerry Bridges, A.W. Tozer.

Pastoral Intern

Tim Sigman

Tim Sigman

Tim graduated from WV State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Sciences and then The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity in Christian Ministry. For over 15 years, he worked in the insurance business in the private sector as a Claims Adjuster and Underwriter.  He currently works in the public sector as an Insurance Policy & Rate Analyst Supervisor with the WV Office of the Insurance Commissioner. He also served as the Senior Pastor of Buffalo Baptist Church in Buffalo, WV for six years.

Tim is married to Stacey.

Tim serves  as a Pastoral Intern and is involved in Student Ministry, teaching the teen Training Hour class, and assisting in the leading of a Small Group. Books that have influenced his faith include: All of Grace by C.H. Spurgeon, The Holiness of God by R.C. Sproul, and The Gospel According To God by John MacArthur.
